Welcome to Apsley, West Wimmera, Victoria

This website provides information both to those visiting and living within the community.

Apsley, a little treasure, is located half way between Melbourne and Adelaide on the Wimmera Highway, 10.5 km from the South Australian border.

Apsley is one of Victoria's oldest towns and had its beginnings as a key postal town.

In 1849 Apsley was regarded as the cross roads between east, west, north and south. The road between the colonies of Victoria and South Australia merged and crossed here.

Surrounded by beautiful red gums, wetlands, flora and fauna, all still found in their natural environments, Apsley offers something for everyone.

As a community we welcome your interest in this unique part of Victoria.

The site is maintained by a dedicated group from the Apsley and Districts Action Group.
